Low Contrast

This picture was taken on a cloudy day in Vladivostok, Russia. What happens where there is a low light level is a sort of grey look to the picture. Another way to describe the photo is that there is a lack of contrast present. The adjustment involves increasing the darkness of the dark areas and at the same time increasing the lightness of the light areas. What this does is to increase the contrast of the image.
